Well I got my first Wasr or Ak or whatever this thing is. I will tell you I was really worried about buying in after reading these forums. I picked it out of a few at the local gun shop and brought it home and cleaned the hell out of it. It had this rust colored crap all over it. I worked a couple hours getting it all out of the action and barrel. Then I lubed it a little and took it to the range. This is when I got pissed. First round was ok, then jam city. Cleared this and tired again. Same thing kept happening. I changed ammo. Still no luck. Then I thought you know maybe the mag sucks. Well I change it and it runs like a sewing machine. Perfect function the rest of the time. Just to be honest it was far more accurate than I could have hoped. I feel great about this buy now.
Thanks for all the help guys on what to look for and how to pick the best one that I could find.

yeah - pics!

And what mag didn't cut it and what mag did?  Kind of mag- for example, were you using say a promag to start with and then switched to an eastern block steel one?  Or what?

I will be honest I don't know what kind of mags these were, only that they came with the rifle. Both looked used, but not really abused. I did clean both of them completely before shooting. So I don't think they were gummed up or anything. Hopefully late tomorrow I will be able to post pics of the rifle and mag. One question I have is what is a good ammo to shoot thru these just to play with.
