I am considering scoping out my Romy STG-2000-C with a red dot or small 4x30 I can either go with the side rail or a top rail scope mount. I wanted to get your opinions on what works best. I have heard the top rail scope mount (where you replace your top cover) do not hold zero and are flimsy. Please lead me in the right direction on what works best--if you can, give me names of retailers you have had success with.

The common 4x24 with integral side mount lets you peek under for irons up close, runs $130ish last I looked.
