Just got my ZNICH from Kalinka Optics....yes...the controversial people.

I wasn't gonna order from them. But I'll challenge you to find anyone in the USA selling one.

FreedomOptics doesn't put them on eBay under George5000 anymore.

edit~Doug Ford/Tantal hasn't had em since 2005 also.~edit

And Oleg@Rusmilitary carries them irregularily from the UK, at almost $210.00US after conversion from the pound(not euro).

If you are a puritan dork like me, and want Russian optics, and lights/lasers for your Russian toys. I'd get one now.

Kalinka seems to be improving. I got my e-mail right away with tracking number and everything.

I'll post photos when I can borrow a digi-cam.

I will put up pics.

First. It took about 5 days from order to arrival. NICE.

Also. It came packaged nicely. Well protected.

I received the FLORA pattern pouch with all accesories in great cond.

It also came with 2 packages of VARTA AA batteries. ALL DEAD....LOL

But that's okay.

Putting the light in the mount was easy. little allen screws, and allen keys just like everything else in the Gun world...lol

Finally. The brightness test.

Decent brightness. A bit yellow. I'd say approx 50 lumens max.

Not as powerful as my 951Surefire by far.

About the same as my Surefire G2 Nitrolon. Except yellow.

You can twist the front and expand, or pinpoint the beam.

Only thing not right is yes...it's a bit spendy for what you get.

I paid $119.00 plus shipping. I believe the total was around $130.00 after all. Which is cheaper than the others I've seen for sale. So another thumbs-up for Kalinka.

There are many better American tac-lights for this cost. But it seems to be the only Russian/Bulgarian thing going that I've found/seen.

I'll get those pics up.

Thanks for the post. While Tomac has not been posting much anywhere I have seen, he has a few guns with the same setup.

I love my Znich and didn't mind paying a bit extra for an 'authentic' look. As mentioned the lumens aren't as bright as a surefire or other name brand, but the Znich gets the job done. I also like the somewhat squared off look to it and it's a bit more yellowish than other lights seem to be.

It's not a simple 1,2,3 process to get it mounted but its not so difficult to figure out and once its on, its on tight.

Mine came from FreedomOptics and the only complaint I have is that it came with a pressure pad instead of an on/off. I've never cared for those on any light. Downside is the on/off caps don't seem to be available.

As is apparently usual for combloc manufacture the battery cap is too easy to cross thread, I had the same problem on my PO 3.5x21 battery cap as well. Not a critical, but strangely illogical for field devices intended to be used by soldiers imho.

All things considered I'm happy and definately glad I bought it.

HAHAHA

I will seriously trade you your pressure switch for my on/off straight up.

Let me know. It's brand spanking new. 2 weeks old. played with twice.

I wanted a pressure pad. Kalinka is sporadic with delivery types.

What pouch did yours come with. I want woodland. I have MVD woodland. Kinda tiger stripe like.

762,

PM sent. There's a link in there for a zipped set of photos of the camo pouch, about 1.5mb. It might take a minute to download because of my connection, but it should work fine. I'm on cable, just don't have the fastest outbound speed.

Thanks for the offer to trade btw...I never would have thought to ask anyone lol
