Where can I buy a scope rail? I just need tha piece that fits on the receiver. Anybody have one they don't need? Thanks. |

It goes just above the fcg pins, which stay put. It should have relief behind the rail for existing rivets, to allow for a flush and stable fit. Due to either sloppy work or soft rivets, my 2000 SAR2 shot loose under massive 5.45 recoil. Gave me an excuse to blast/park the whole gun when I had the rail welded solid. Key is to align it well so the scope is not up/down. I have seen some a full 1/8" off level. IMO the rail is the only good way to mount a std optic on an AK. The Ultimak is good for red dots, can be had for about $75. Z28 SS I assume? Miss the burble of the SLP 2 on the left exhaust I put on my 94... |

Thanks for the information. Is there a website that I can read how to do it? I am not at all familiar with the AK-47 enough to strip it down without some documentation! Field stripping is as far as I have gone. As for the SS... ACtually it is my 1996 Impala SS. I have a pretty well built LT1 in it, drag race it quite a bit. I know the sound you mean, I have true dual exhaust (all Impala's had that), SLP Cat back, Export pipes (no catalytic converters, just for race!), and full length headers.... I love that sound! |

tantal.kalashnikov.guns.ru/rail_install.html This is specific for tantal's siderail but should be useful for any rail. Also, I'd suggest this rail for any ak reciever be it stamped or milled. I used one for my hungarian and had perfect results. |
