| So I orderd a new WASR today from atlantic and was curious what you guys would get as a optic ? I was thinking the 4x scope but i cant seem to find the AK version anywhere ? |

Depending on availability there are lots and lots of options. Generally I agree with the red dot for a WASR as mentioned above but a good 4x24 AK mount is fun at the range. Z |

Primary Arms has the scope specifically calibrated for 7.62x39. I ran a cheap compact scope & side mount on my WASR for a while but didn't care for it, as much as like to scope my rifles my WASR wasn't accurate enough to warrant a 4x or higher scope. Mounted a TRS-25 red dot instead and been much happier. Accuracy from 25 to 100 yards is better with the red dot vs the scope. No fault of the scope, that same optic is perfect on another rifle. If you're set on a scope, get a side mount that puts your scope as close to the receiver as possible, mine was high enough I could remove the cover without removing the side mount. Even with the lowest rings I could find it put the scope too high for serious use. |
