| What is the difference besides about $100? Looking at the 4x24. I see the PSO takes a single AA while the POSP takes 2 coin batteries. Is that it, or is there a difference in quality? |

As I understand it (which means there is room for error here): POSPs originate in Belarus, manufactured by Belomo (Zenit is one of three Belomo plants). Belomo also manufactures certain PSO scopes (see here). Most PSO scopes originate in Russia, manufactured by NPZ. Some people claim that PSOs are higher quality, but I don't necessarily believe it. I own two PSOs (2.5x18 and 4x24) and three POSPs (4x24, 6x42, and 8x42) and don't see any difference in quality or clarity between the two. Both are equally good IMO, based on my experience. I say pocket the difference and get the POSP. |
