Can anyone give me a suggestion on what mount to use for my tantal, so that I can mount an EOtech 512 on it?  Your help is greatly appreciated.

The dogleg (beryl mount) or an Ultimak.  I remember hearing heating issues w/ eotechs and the Ultimak, but i cant even find the people with the issues/thread.  The Dogleg is a nice cheap alternative, but you will have to make some small mods to keep zero.  I used an Aimpoint on my Ultimak for a year w/o one issue and a perfect zero.

Pic of a friend's kid and my setup.  The dogleg kept a nice zero with the aimpoint, but when i added a scope i had to slightly re-enforce the rear tang w/ jb weld.

Both the dog leg and the new quick detach DPH Arms mount would work great for the EoTech.  The dog leg is much easier to mount on the Tantal as the rear sight base is wider than it is set up for and requires some filing of the front of the mount to get it to fit and the dog leg offers a lower mounting point for the optic.  I am currently running an EoTech 512 on one of my dog leg rails and I am quite pleased.

This is cheapest, the Krebs and one in the Ragafa thread here have more provisions for backup irons.

Unless your build has a side rail, then you need a bracket for that.

I had that one and it works fine, but you have to unscrew it each time you want to clean the weapon.  That is not a big deal if you are shooting non-corrosive ammo, but in a Tantal, surplus 5.45 is corrosive and would need a complete tear down each time.  If he is shooting only non-corrosive in it then it won't matter.

Any one know what kinda iron sights would work with this set up? I really like the Krebs one but an extra 200 just so it has a rear sight seems a bit much....
