So in the relatively near future I'm going to be picking up a bulgy 5.45 that I plan to make my "tactical" gun. I'm gonna use ultimak to mount optic, but I'm torn between the Micro T-1 and the CompM3 (would probably NOT use the rubber jacket thing, but thats largely aesthetic). Both look like great sights, so I'm gonna kind of throw up a list of advantages one has over the other... if I'm wrong on any, or I miss a few, feel free to correct me. And based on what I see as +/-, which would you go with in my position?

Micro T-1 pros-
Co-witness (only really needed if optic fails, but quick release lever can help the compm3)
Smaller size
longer battery life (but 5 years of on time vs 8 years of on time seems a little superfluous)

CompM3 pros-
2MOA reticle (my eyes are good enough, and rifle probably is, to need 2MOA. Lots of open space where I am, so longer shots will come up)
This (again long shots...)
Looks more durable (no basis for that, just appearance) also looks a little more... badass. lol

Opinions?

EDIT: And with the 3xmag for the CompM3... I just thought about this, if it's mounted on ultimak will eye relief be a problem? It's meant for the rail of an M16/AR15 so that just hit me...

One more note - any particular reason you'd pick 1 over other would be nice...

Edit: That sounded way more douchebaggy than it was intended. perhaps I should have included a lol

If it's the left side folding 74, you'll need the Ultimak. And I never considered eye relief when I range mooched a 3x mag (to compare to my heathen 2x all in one unit).

For eye relief, try SWFA in the Industry forum

I'm another fan of the 2moa option.

Note the ability of a flip cap to be left down in front so you see the dot against the black for steady brightness in any lighting shift, but do not see the black circle both-eyes-open. So I vote M3.

Ive used both and every new red dot I buy will be a T1 until something better comes out.

I've got both on AKs with Ultimaks.  The ML3 is mounted in an Aimpoint ring mount and also co-witnesses, just as the Micro T1 does.  Because the sight is mounted so far forward you do feel the weight difference between the two.  I prefer the T1 because of this, but if I had an ML3, ML2 or whatever that was just laying around I wouldn't hesitate to use that either.  I really wish they would make a T1 with a 2moa dot.
