I want to put lights on a couple of AKs I have. I don't want to go the AR route and put all kinds of abominable rails on them and I REALLY would like to stick with Russkie accessories.

Is the Znich the best option for putting a light on my AK? Are there other better options for the AK?

My goal is to make the gun tactically effective, while trying to preserve the integrity of the AK platform. The primary gun that I have in mind is a Saiga AK-103 clone. I am going to try and get a PK-AS-S for it, and I am going to order the Russian web gear for the mag pouch, sling and drop bag. I even have Russian mags from the Izhmash Arsenal with the Izhmash Arsenal mark stamped on the spine of the mags. I want this gun to be all Russian, with the exception of the compliance parts. At the same time, I want to be able to use the gun for defensive purposes and tactical training, and having a weapon light is essential for this. So, if not the Znich, then what other Russkie options are there, if any?

Znich, bit I'd go with a Surefire G2Z LED and M14 mount. Their M14 clamps onto the bbl and lets you rotate the set angle right where your thumb wants to find it, and not set right in line with the sling hoop.
