Aimpoint® Micro T-1

Interested in reports from folks who are using this.

Seems kinda pricey.

I've seen a few pics here of it mounted on an AK gas tube.

Anybody burned multiple mags through the gun with this thing on the gas tube?

Any adverse effects?

I recently picked up a brand new Micro T-1 for $303.00 shipped!

The first one I purchased was something like $475.00 shipped.

Great optic for the UltiMAK gas tube rail on an AK.

I use one on an Ultimak, and I can't recommend it highly enough. I've gotten mine hotter than the hinges of hell (probably seven or eight mags, in rapid succession, fired as rapidly as possible while maintaining consistant hits on a human silhouette @ 100yds) with no adverse effects, including to the battery.

If you can afford it, get it.

Is your T1 mounted with the standard mount or on a raised mount?  Where is the dot in relation to the irons (lower 1/3, co-witness, etc)?

Standard mount.

I'd call it lower 1/8 or so. I like it there and have no desire for any other mount.

What is that throw mount H20MAN, and will the sight cowitness with it?

Great pic, BTW. Got one of the whole rig??

It's an Aimpoint TL installed on the original mount - I'm not sure if I like
it or not though. It does not R&R as easily as a typical LaRue TL mount.
The height of the optic is unchanged and cowitness is perfect.

The whole rig ~

Does Ultimak make a version of the 12 o'clock rail for the AK that is picatinny spec?

My LaRue 661 will not mount, nor will my T-1 included mount.

Thanks!

This is the second post I've read of this happening.  I just purchased an Ultimak gas tube and a T-1 and they mounted up perfectly together with the factory mount.  Perhaps call ultimak and see what the deal is?

Oh, they will be getting a call from me first business hour Monday.
I discovered this last night.

Can you mount a LaRue mount on your rail?

I was going to buy one if the included mounts didn't work, but since they do, I really don't have any need for one.  sorry I can't help you with that one...

Anybody else really cooked one yet?

Manufacturer says 160 degrees.

I know I can get it hotter than that.

To all fellow Micro T-1 users:

Tighten, and don't forget to check on that battery cover. I was afraid of breaking it,and
didn't wish to over do it. I come back from lunch on day3 of a rifle class, and, cover
is MIA. A borrowed cover from a classmates spare unit(Wow,a SPARE 600 dollar sight?)
got me thru. When I got home called Aimpoint. The rep was super nice, and said it
happens quite a bit. He told me you won't break it,so tighten it down. IF you somehow
do break it,they will fix/replace it. My free replacement arrived in 2 days. They even paid
shipping.
