I've got a really nasty Maadi AK47 that I've been cleaning up for a while now. Little things like fixing the trigger bump and replacing the shepard's crook. I was out shooting it the other day for the first time and couldn't help but notice that when I lined up the front blade with the rear sight, I had to hold a few subjective inches left on a 2 liter soda bottle at 15 yards to hit it. Normally, whenever I have problems hitting the target I blame myself. I braced myself against the bench and found the same thing. I don't have much in the way of resources. No money to speak of, no rifle rest or AK specific tools. Anyone have advice or help? I would much appreciate it. |

Try another gun just to be sure there was not a hitch in your shooting that day (some times accurate rs39 is not in the range box that day..). Make sure the rear leaf has not been bent. Soak the front sight in oil, grab a C-clamp and sockets, and another set of hands to hold them. Use the small socket to push, larger to receive, and drift the front post drum over. If it zeroes with the sight way over, tell us to 'type you thru more'. |
