Hello gents, I’ve got a “sliding” scope on my PSL. I replaced the 4 power scope with a new 8 power scope. Wanted a higher magnification due to the fact I can shoot out to 650 yards at our local range. So now after three or four shots, the scope slides back approx .040 - .050 inch. Not much, but not what I want. I’ve tighten up the bottom screw on the scope mount, but if I move it any more the scope mount will not slide onto the rail. So . . what to do ? ? ? Really doubt I’ll be moving the scope “on and off” very often. Would “red” Loc-Tite hold it in place ? Maybe drill a small hole in the rail just behind the mount, and then pin the hole so the scope could not slide to the rear ? ? Any other ideas ? ? ? Thanks ! ! |
You may find you can tighten the throw lever and still get it on with just the right amount of hand pressure. I tightened mine as much as I could and lubed it with valve grinding compound. I just worked it back and forth over the mount tell the resistance was about even along the length of rail then tightened it down more and repeated. Eventually I worked the mount and rail to a nice fit. |
O forgot about the mount types. +1 |

Hello again, Well . . . made another trip to the range today. Must have fired 140 rounds or so - and NO scope movement ! ! "Laped" the rail and scope mount with valve grinding compound and tightened the mounting screw the best I ccould. Scope mounts-up MUCH nicer after I "laped" the mount and rail. So . . . Thank You for the GREAT advice on how to fix my problem. |
