ETA: My 1000 post!!

I got some of the SG mags. Of course you get the extra cosmo for no additional charge. I got 2 bad ones in a 6 pack. They sent 2 more and told me to keep the bad ones. Fixed the bad ones and now have a total of 9 functional AK mags. I know its not many, but thats about all I can carry.

Anyone used anything to coat or paint theres with thats really durable?

Ran em thru the dishwasher on the hottest pot scrubber setting.

Lightly sand blasted them.

Smoothed and buffed them to fit my AK perfectly.

Painted them with a high temp engine enamel that has ceramic in it.

Those came out great. Wish I could say the same for the mags I got earlier this year from Centerfire. Where could I find some of this engine enamel, and is it a paint on application, or a spray?

it is a spray paint sold in places like autozone

looks good. molyresin or duracoat would hold up better, but are more expensive options

Do you think the stuff from Brownells would be good, meaning the spray on then bake paints? Either that or I will do what the OP did. They came out GREAT, but one question; do they have an engine paint like you used in a flat finish???
