I just ordered the 12 pack of sportsmansguides 80 dollar mags.  I had to split them with my father-in-law.  They were packed in 6 pounds of cosmoline.  I cleaned off the outer cosmo but is it better to leave it on the springs or remove it completely from the inside?

Thanks for the input.

Take the mags apart and remove it completely.  If you want, oil the insides when you are done.

Leaving cosmo in the mag is asking for it to get on your rounds when you load the mag, and then into your gun when you shoot it.

Lastly, what $80 12 pack?

I think it was $79.97 for 12 AK mags.  Hell of a deal.

Don't get too excited - SG ran out last week. They were selling 12 packs of 30-rd mags for $80. Each set was a smorgasbord of different types. I got a couple of Croatian, two Egyptian, two Yugo BHO and a bunch of EE.

I was thinking he was talking about a new SG deal.

I purchased 2 dozen of the SG mags, though I only paid $71 a dozen for being a club member.

SG is selling the cosmo coated mags again?  Sounds like they have initated a panic buying on what they have left. Guys, let us know what you get in your packs when you get them. Inquiring minds want to know. They don't show up on their website!
They also sell Yugo Krinks for $600.00!
