+1 They are very good about that. It's one of the many reasons I don't hesitate to buy from them. |
| I did not test fire the magazines. I thought the reason was obvious. The magazines failed my evaluation before they even made it to the range. But hey, there is nothing stopping you from testing them at the range. For me it would have been a waste of time, THEY ALREADY FAILED. |
I finally fot to test the ProMag magazine in an AK and it worked flawlessly. The polymer is glass reinforced and does not need the steel inserts which would make it costlier to manufacture. The glsss fibers provide the stiffness needed. I don't know what magazines the VEPR uses but the Saiga will NOT function properly with AK magazines unless converted and have a feed ramp added to them. This is what I suspect is happening with the VEPR which also uses proprietary magazines. All my ProMag magazines have been excellent. I used them on my pistols and they are as good as the factory mags. My polymer Mini-14 is the only decent aftermarket magazine I ever used, it inserts into the mag well the same as the factory magazine and fall freely as the factory magazine. I had other Mini-14 aftermarket magazines which crapped out after a while. |

At the show this weekend there was a fellow selling clear promag waffles they were like a blue smoke color and not reinforced with anything. They looked cool but but life of the mag ???? Does anyone remember the 10/22 mags that were all plastic including the lips the lips would crack and fail so they started making the bodies plastic with metal around the lip area. You would think they would have learned from the other mag companies. |
remember those ladies that would go to bars and get guys to buy em certain brand drinks? i bet this guy's got a sister like that. and besides, the promag is a good $20, you can get steel ones for less than that. why mess with success? |
+1, why pay more for less???????????? |
3 US parts for compliance: mag body, follower, floorplate. |
Which "those" are you refering to, the Promag or the Bulgarian? Here's the Bulgarian 7.62 LINK, as for the Promag, try looking in the dumpster outside of the Knob Creek shooting range. |
lol the bulgies, yea ive seen the promags....screw that crap thanks for the link |
I have used all kinds of mags, and with the exception of US made crap, they all work fine. That being said, I like the Bulgarian polymers best. Good luck. |

Funny....everyone posting negative comments on the mag are for the MOST part, persons who have not even TRIED the promag. Not to say that everything promag makes is the best. It's just that those who have actually used the mag have no issues. You can find the mags for much less then others on the market and they DO work without problems. Another thing is that many people have part kit AK's and some are not set up to spec like factory guns. Even the "best mags" can still have issues with those guns. I just hate to see the internet rumor mill go around spreading untrue statements about good products. |
So what parts of this thread are untrue? |
