I dont want to keep all my mags loaded, but I do want to keep some loaded for SHTF.  I have new bulgarians, metal and circle 10 polymers, and the aimsurplus eauropean ones all 30 rounders.  If you were going to keep only 6 loaded which ones would you?

I just say cycle them out every month or so, Ive never had issues with mag springs losing tension except for contract Beretta 92 mags.

Not true. You don't have to do that, and that will actually wear them out faster than leaving them loaded.

I would use the ones you got from Aim Surplus if you're only going to use 6 of them.

The fact of the matter is, your going to run out of ammo before you wear out your magazines. . .

This has been debated many times before.

Storing a AK mag loaded will not weaken or wear out the spring.  But loading and unloading WILL wear it out eventually.  I store all my AK mags loaded.

To rephrase my question, out of the different types of mags I have, which ones are better.

Thanks

I think the most important point is see which ones work in your rifle the best. Which one's cycle the best, have never had a jam or feeding issue, which one's are in the best condition and you frankly trust. Of what you posted, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. If you have a bug out bag, maybe the lightest mags with a full load is the best option. Those Euro AIM mags fully loaded are a little heavier than my liking if I have to back and go.

I know this isn't realy on your list...but I have 10 Bulgarian " bullit" mags..the 40 rounders fully loaded...I love them.  Their about the same weight as the steel 30s loaded.....just went out yesterday and blew threw 6 of them...after sitting loaded for 6 months ...not one issue..and this was with cheap steal cased ammo..that started to show rust spots.   MAK 90 bone stock

I do realy like these mags...and they fit perfect in my rifle...but iv seen then not fit in a Warsaw .

I disagree....
All/Any arsenal marked mags are much higher quality!
They will last longer, are made of better materials, are made to a high standard spec and are subject to post manufacturer inspection.
All mags ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL!!!!
Arsenal marked mags > non-arsenal marked mags

Here are examples of arsenal marked mags:

I disagree......
You can try reading and see that he said of the mags listed.......
No diff.
I have MANY Chinese made mags from the late 80's,they have NO MARKINGS on them at all,are the sub-standard?

I yield to you on the point of listed mags, you are correct.
I would take any arsenal marked mag over an unmarked.
The date at which you obtained your Chinese mags makes them a sure bet.
But there quality is known only to you....

I like Hungarian 20`s for the wall thickness and no slop fit . Not to mention prone shooting .

They all work and can take abuse. I wouldnt worry so much.

Same. I keep a random mix of mil surplus mags loaded at all times that I bought based on price. They all work.

just run them to make sure they run reliably and you can keep them loaded for years and they should still feed reliably.

springs wear out from compress/decompressing cycles or being over stretched beyond elastic limit (thus becoming deformed (cannot return to original state)). thats it. no magic or anything to that.

I buy the new Polish made steel AK47 mags sold by APEX. Brand new still in the wax paper, I doubt I will live long enough to wear them out! $18 each RTG has the same mags for $16.95!
