Anyone have a decent way to store "extra" 30 rounders?  I've got pistol mags and such just tossed in 50 cal ammo cans, but I can't seem to find a very efficient way to store AK mags.  Any ideas/tips?

I've got a bunch of new 30's that i coated with a high quality gun oil/preservative and then wrapped in heavy brown paper.  They then go into a SAW ammo can where they will stay like new for years....

Twenty of them fit perfectly standing up in one of these:

Cabelas Dry Storage Box

I coated some in CLP, placed them in mag bags, and store them in these boxes with a desicant pack.

Having a nice horad of AK ans AR mags, I have found the Fat 50 ammo cans work best. I can store 18 AK 30rnd mags in them each. That reminds me, I need more Fat 50s.

Well, I ended up being able to get 11 in a standard 50 cal box.  Not too bad I guess.

yeah I'm betting they would be fine in the original wrap with the cosmo.....but if i buy some mags and they're in cosmo i clean the shit off by scrubbing them with WD40 and a nylon brush, dry them off and than apply the oil/lube/preservative....I use BREAK FREE COLLECTOR...its a long term storage oil that prevents rust and corrosion of any kind. I wrap them in sheets of heavy gauge brown paper.

at this point EVERY mag you own should be loaded. It does hurt the spring to be compressed.

Better safe than sorry

I just got some 30 rounders from AIM, packaged in plastic bags and AIM description says in "grease". It looks more like oil to me. Can I leave this on or should I clean and oil then store?
