Hello Hootbro, Yes sir, I have some Yugo, Bulgarian, and Romanian, and they all function just fine in both guns. Obviously the ProMags do not fit far enough up into the gun. I sent an email to ProMag's tech guy, Stanley Smith, but he has not responed yet. Thank you for responding. |
Well since the Mil-Spec mags work, then obviously it is the ProMags. I have no problems with my 30's ProMags in like rifles but then I have not dealt with the 20's. Let us know what the factory rep says. In the mean time, find some Hungarian 20 round tanker mags. Hootbro |
I would argue that the vast majority of them are good. In my opinion, the problem and bad reputation of ProMags are due to the following: 1. People who pass on internet rumors without ever seeing or trying one. A lot of "my friends brother, neighbor's pool boy third cousin heard they were bad". 2. Tolerance stack up issues with crappy Century WASR conversions and questionable kit builds. I have bought other peoples "troubled" ProMAgs and have run them with excellent results in factory built rifles. I do find it ironic that when I offer to buy peoples "troubled" ProMags, they still want to sell them to me for full retail. I will not argue that ProMags are as durable as Mil-Spec mags as they are not. For range and casual use, they hold up. Hootbro |
| When I'm not fending off an onslaught of of brain eating zombies, or parachuting behind enemy lines to disrupt enemy supply chains, I use the Promag Polymer 20's at the range. The 20's are short in length, look good in a Bulgie milled rifle, have an all-plastic construction that doesn't scratch my receiver, and don't jam, which equates to good for me. YMMV. |
