when is magpul gonna make a pmag for the ak.  I think they are missing out on a huge market plus if they are like the pmags for the ar then they would be 10X better than any other mag out

I would buy AK Pmags by the metric ton if they were available.  I have at least 30 AR Pmags and would love to treat my AKs to some as well.

I don't think MagPul could compete with the surplus mags out there now.  Think about it - the Pmags were created because the AR mag have never been that great in terms of durability and reliability.  AK mags don't seem to suffer the same problems as the AR mags and as long as you DON'T buy American mags they seem to work pretty darn good.  I doubt MagPul could build their mags for $20 or less to win over the AK owners who don't like spending tons of money on their AKs...  I'm buying essentially new mags for $12 right now for my AK from CDNN - MagPul would have to have darn cheap mags that give me something the cheap mags didn't...

K-VAR is still selling hundreds of Bulgarian Synthetic mags for $24+. They are not selling them for $24+ because they cost that much but because that is what the market will bear.

Even if MAGPUL made a AK mag that cost $20 wholesale, that $4-$5 extra at retail will still be supported. Hell, ProMag can bring a mag to market for $15 retail, an extra $5-$10 to add steel liner and locking tabs can be done by MAGPUL.

Surplus AR mags are cheaper than PMAGS, but they sell fine. Why would an AK PMAG cost more to produce than an AR PMAG? This seems totally feasible to me and I would be highly suprised if Magpul wasn't already working on it.
