Am I correct in thinking that a black polymer mag that says the caliber up top on the side (7.62X39) and has a #2 way down at the bottom is a Polish polymer mag? A local gun shop has a few (new or like new) for $18 a piece (their EG steel mags are $25 ). Should I grab them up like a fat chick to twinkies, or maybe not so good of a buy? Thanks |

Well guys.... I just picked up FOUR of the Polish slabside mags just like in the pic above for $36. I traded in trade like new AR15 LaBelle 30rd USGI mags (with old style follower) as well. I have plenty of USGI mags for the AR. The shop owner thinks he has a "box of a dozen or so, maybe more" at is wharehouse, said he'd make me a deal on them if I wanted them all. Individually, they are priced at $18. We'll see what I can reel in. Maybe I'll share the wealth. |
To be honest, I dont think the shop owner knows what they are exactly. He simply said "they're plastic mags and the steel ones are better", hence why his steel EG mags are $25 and these "unkown plastic mags" are only $18. That is why I came directly to this forum after I got home from the gun/pawn shop and startd this thread. If they were Polish polymer mags, I was going to be buying as many as possible. I wont complain for $18/mag. Hopefully he does in fact have a whole box of these things back in his wharehouse. The shop is small so I can imagine that he does have a seperate place to store extra inventory off sight. I am supposed to call him today. I'll spread the word when I find out. Maybe I'll snatch them all up and sell a number of them at my cost ($18 + local sales tax + shipping). $21 per mag shipped, I am guessing |
