I purchased a Promag 30rd polymer magazine and it won't seem to fit into the magazine well on my WASR-10.  Tried it every which way with no luck.  Does Promag just suck or do I just need to go to work on it with a razor knife until it fits?  Anybody else have a similar problem?  Are the K-Var mags any different/better?  Thanks!

I don't have any problems with my ProMag AK magazines.  They work flawlessly in my Yugo and my friend's Chinese AKs.  Most ProMag magazines have worked well for me for other guns.

The only ProMag magazine I didn't care for was the SKS magazine because it needs to be fitted to the rifle due to dimensional variations in different countries the SKS was made.  I also wasn't sure it meets US compliance with the magazine.  I can load the stripper clips as fast as a magazine change since the SKS bolt carrier has a stripper clip slot.

Pro mags have worked well in every AK I own, from WASR's to Yugos.
I like bulgy waffles and synthetic mags the best.
Steel commie mags almost always work, fit just right, and "snap" in with the right sound. If you don't get the cosmoline all out, then they have that fresh milsurp aroma to really seal the love.  And cheap.  These are the reasons they always win out--looks, price, feel, sound, smell.  A potent combination. but then you have to deal with the rust.

STAY AWAY FROM PROMAG.  A good mag is essential for good operation of any semi-automatic firearm.  They aren't that expensive, so why cheap yourself?

I tried the Pro-Mag in my STG-2003C .223 rifle and had failure to feed on every second shot.  I would love to get my $15 back

Instead wasting money with promag, just send me whatever you were going to spend on promags, and I'll send you a box full of dogshit.

I'd expect the dogshit to feed more reliably.

After my fun shop lost the ones that were suppose to come with my storm, he tries and make right with the promags, he say they are the same as the factory ones (BS) only jam up evey other rounds, put them right in the trash where they belong.
I never have or will go back to that shop.

My STG2000 came with a promag and it worked great.
Now, after I think about it, the only AK style mags that have had a failure on me were one VERY well used com bloc steel in 7.62 and one VERY well used 5.45 plum mag from AIM.
Pro mags seem to be made pretty cheap--no metal reinforcements.  I do not think they will last as long as  even a well used com bloc mag.

I have two pro-mags and they suck as well, I have a lot of trouble getting them in my Vector.  Then again, the steel mag I got with it too doesn't always go in very easily either.  I'm hoping the Hungarian mags I just ordered fit in a little easier.  It sucks when I stand there trying to put my damn mag in the gun for a minute.
