| My nephew went to a gunshow and bought some supposedly AP AK ammo. Is this the same as Steel Core? It attracts a magnet, but so does Norinco, Jing Pang (?) S&B, and Wolf. The only ammo that didn't was Win brass cased. Did they guy misrepresent it or is Steel Core AP? How can you tell if it is AP? Someone please give me the scoop on the different types of bullets and what's the most desireable. Sorry for the newbie question. |
If someone sold him steel core they probably told him it was armor piercing based on the BATF decision that was used to ban this kind of ammunition from importation. Here is a great site for information that might help you find out what kind of ammunition you have.7.62 x 39 AMMO  Sign_Wolfman
