What is the difference between SP and FJM? does SP Fragment apon impact? or does SP just penitrate better?

FMJ or Full Metal Jacket is completely enclosed (except the very base usually) in it's copper jacket.

A SP or Soft Point, has the lead exposed at the tip. If anything it will penetrate less because it can expand somewhat.
