OAL OF CARTRAGES Perhaps you may be interested in my random sample of cartridges I had on hand. The cartridges were measured for overall length. These are a random sample of what was available in my basement. These samples are do meet the requirements to have any statistic validity but are just a random sample. I sampled twenty cartridges from each lot. Wolf 5.45x39 HP 60gr with polymer coating. Lot 43-03 Long 2.234 Short 2.222 Length variation .012 Barnual 5.45x39 FMJ 60gr Lot H29-03 Long 2.236 Short 2.225 Length variation .011 Federal Red Box 5.56 MM 55gr FMJ Lot 290090Z124 Long 2.236 Short 2.225 Length variation .016 Win Q3131A 5.56 MM 55gr FMJ Brass marked WCC 99 Lot PF42 Long 2.251 Short 2.247 Length variation .004 I would like to see your comments this this sample. Well Sparky1 welcome to my world. I thought I was the only one that did more than load ammo into magazines. Below is 10rds that I pulled the bullets from in the boxes.   I guess that Federal is clueless as to why the Winchester out sells their 5.56 ammo by a big margin. Also most people have no clue as to why they don't get better groups with Russian ammo. Consistancy is the key to accuracy. |
