Wolf sources their ammo from several different manufacturers. While it is built to spec, that doesn't mean that Wolf Military Classic 124g FMJ from lot #XXX is the same as Wolf Military Classic 124g FMJ from lot #XYY, or even Wolf Polyformance 124g FMJ from the same factory as WMC lot #XXX. If you want something closest to military ammo, go with the aforementioned Golden Tiger or actual military surplus like Yugo M67. |

If you want something closest to military ammo, go with the aforementioned Golden Tiger or actual military surplus like Yugo M67. I'll +1 this, Yugo m67 is actual military surplus. Which is also corrosive. It's hot, it's accurate, and it's brass cased/copper jacketed. It's also drying up. Best steel commercial ammo is Golden Tiger IMHO. Only brand that uses a boattail projectile. And it's lacquered with a good primer & neck seal. After that anything out of the Barnaul factory (Brown/Silver Bear or Monarch). |
| I have tried various types of ammo over the years. Everything from Chicom surplus to Golden tiger. To be honest, i cant really tell a lot of difference as far accuracy is concerned. Wolf and Tula are a little dirtier than others, but thats about it. If you are wanting some to put back for a rainy day, Golden Tiger or some type with sealant and lacquered cases would be best. I recently ordered a case of the green box Wolf from Sg, but its mainly for storing. |
