Anyone buy any of this AK Yugo ammo at AIM Surplus?
Any good? When was it produced? Seems like a good price...just checking. Yugo Ammo thanks, |
| I'm not sure why anyone would buy the stuff. Its corrosive, I think its generaly more expensive to ship b/c of packaging. I though the reports where some rounds were undercharged and it was generally not as accurate as new production steel. It would need to be signficantly cheaper than new production steel for me to think about purchasing it.... and its not. |

Could you link me to the links of the reports of undercharged and innacurate as compared to new steel ammo? Thanks. |
| i had 2 of 1120 (1978 production)of the stripper clip stuff that had bad primers. i had 0 0f 3x1260 (1982 &1983 production)boxed stuff FTFire. great accuracy too. no corrosion/rust issues by just general clp and oil cleaning. no hot soapy water used here. i love it. |

| I have some Yugo ammo. I would have never thought something from Yugoslavia could be good and accurate. As stated above, clean your rifle to address the corrosive property. I think many stay away from this ammo when they hear "corrosive" because they think it is some type of acid that will eat the metal in seconds. |
| This ammo is as good as it gets. It was manufactured for military use and was never used. It's finding its way into the money market simply because its worth 50 times more now than when it was produced and that was primarily in the early to mid 70's. This ammo has been used for years in many firearms world wide with no ill affects. The corossive properties of the primers leave very little corrosive residue behind and a good decent cleaning will discourage any harmful effects. This ammo is reliable, accurate, and the brass casings make it a good choice for your gun's action. Feel comfortable ordering and firing this ammo. This stuff won't last forever so get what you can while you can and happy shooting. |

Yugoslavia makes great shooting stuff. The Springfield XD handgun is a Croatian-designed and built handgun with Springfield stamped on it. Also their M70 AK design is considered by most as the best. |

AIM is a high quality tier 1 vendor that have done business with several times over the years and have spent thousands with, with out issue 3. Ammoman's owner is, IMHO, a fucking criminal. He cheated a buyer on a Vietnam bring back SKS several years ago. Claimed it was a bring back when in reality it was an import with clearly visable import markings. |

WOW!!!! Didn't meant to open a can of worms over this or get any feelings hurt, it's just that for me it is a better value. Maybe my location is too far but the belivery cost from aim to Las Vegas NV was almost $55 bucks, might be just a few dollars but it adds up. Not bashing on AIM because I have purchase from them too, anyway that was the only intention just in case there is more folks in the same boat.
New member and didn't know sensitive loggers and issues on board....Sorry |

I live in Ohio so I have to pay taxes when I order from AIM. It's still cheaper for me to order from AIM. I like to keep my $ local if I can. Just received a case, I live in columbus and my total to my door was $215 and change, ordered late thursday night and crate showed monday morning. AIM is a wonderful company to deal with, not to mention the wonderful yugo ammo. |

Why did they keep making corrosive ammo once the primers were manufactured to be salt free and would not rust guns anymore Corrosive priming compound is hotter, faster and more reliable over the long term, in general. I have some and it is not corrosive

3 weeks or so I'll be watching closely, just recieved aproximately 500 rds last week and they were great today at the range. I am new to the SKS but I was happy. My new to me Norinco was as accurate with this ammo at 100 yds with my son shooting.(me not so much) I will buy a lot more when it's available. Also I will add that AIM's shipping is boringly predictable to SC |
