Minimal if you are shooting it through a surplus Mosin.  I have the 880 round crate and it is very good accurate ammo shot through iron sights on a couple of Mosins.  My wife knocks bowling pins around with every shot from 50 to 200 yards.  Unfortunately my eyes are not as good as hers so I don't shoot as well.

Steel cased is newer manufacture.  Probably the 80's if Wideners description is correct.  Brass cased stuff I got from them was from the 50's.

Both will shoot fine.  I usually get the cheapest.  But I am shooting Mosins not PSL's.  IIRC there was some that would not completely function in some members PSL's.

You may want to check over here.  There was one brand that did not have enough pressure to cycle the action.  I know Hungarian and Russian will work in PSL's.  May have been Bulgarian they had problems with.

The 800 rnd case is Czech.
The 440 rnd tins that they list as Czech appear to be Hungarian.
I like Czech for my PSL
