How do you use the cleaning kit cap muzzle protector?

I know it snaps over the slant brake, but the hole is smaller than the patch jag.

Put the rod through the tube itself so it acts as a handle, add the muzzle protector, then screw on the jag. One whole assembly with no loose parts.

It doesn't "snap over" the compensator. It slides over. One of the locking nubs goes in the groove in the bottom of the compensator. You then turn the cap to lock it in place.
