My gas tube lever won't turn all the way down to lock into place.  I used the slots on the bolt carrier as a tool to move the lever down, but it still won't move.  Any suggestions on what else I can use???

Make sure the handguard is all the way down in position.  If it's not, the lever won't lock and forcing it will break it.
In many rifles, the gas tube/handguard assembly is pressed down until it "clicks" in place.  Just push down firmly on the rear.

Also, remove the handguard assembly and check to see if the lever will lock properly with the gas tube and guard off.
If not, you have something burred or bent.

If it locks with the guard off, look for something preventing the guard from fitting down all the way, or for burrs or damage preventing the lock from rotating all the way.
DO NOT use force.  The locks are stiff when new, but don't require excess force to lock when things are not defective.
