| Got the barrel pressed into my trunion I would guess 97% of the way in and it won't go any further. I'm trying to avoid taking the thing to work and using a 25 ton press to possible screw things up beyond repair. Any suggestions? BFH isn't working too well here at home. |

Are rivets interfering with the barrel? did you use anti-seize lube? is the barrel rotated so that the rear sight base is interfering with the front trunnion? does it "look" like the barrel is going in straight and true? How did you press it so far? BFH? The all thread method works pretty well too... pics = 1087 words. |
John covered all the bases I can think of. |
If BFH is a "Big Friggin Hammer", the problem could be that after you you drive just about 97-99% of the barrel in, the rear sight block could start protruding beyond the trunion "ears" that are used to rest the receiver on while driving the barrel in. In this case you will need to clamp some 1/4" flat stock to your working table to clear the RSB. |
| So far none of the bad things mentioned have been done. Greased it up, shoved it in and nothing is interfering with anything. It's possible the bore of the trunion is not perfect, and is getting smaller, hence tighter. I may take it to work and smash it with the press. |
