Probably the wrong place to post this but it's the place that probably has the correct answers.

After coming off a few years of an AR "high", I got bit by the AK bug pretty bad. With ARs, if you own any FA components with existing SA weapons in the house you can get nailed for "Intent" but it doesn't appear so with AKs as the FA components come with the kits. I've read on a couple of other sites about ATF making calls a few years later after kits were deemed to have been improperly demilled and asking for pieces back from the end buyers (another reason to pay cash FTF at the gun shows).

I know that someone is going to post "To hell with'em" but for me it's either hang onto the parts and get nailed for intent or chuck the parts and have the ATF cloud over your head down the road when you can't produce the offending parts. If there is something in the rules, I'm missing it.

Do I need to get my tin foil hat re-adjusted? Go easy on me, I'm still noobish on the AK front but learning fast.

K.I.S.S.

Call the seller. Ask if the FCG is FA. I've only used Romy G's and none have come with FA parts.

I've received kits with a "wierd looking disconnector" a "hammer with a bite taken out of it" and an extra axis pin. what I don't have is a receiver with an extra hole, and if you use the spring to make the sheapards hook, you are missing an additional piece, so I don't see how they can say the "intent" was there.

and since I don't plan on building a F/A, I'm not too upset that I lost those parts in a boating accident.

as far as tin-foil, just remember the ATF can get you and your dog for having a shoe string...

an ak isnt like an ar
with an ar if you have a f/a carrier and and alittle time you can get it to run f/a
without drilling any extra holes or doing anythang permanet

its not so easy with an ak as long as you dont have the rail cut or the third hole drilled you can have the other f/a parts in your gun and alot of aks have f/a parts in them wether the owners know it or not :)

but you do want to check local laws because in some states its not legal to have f/a parts
like in wa its illegal to have the parts dosnt matter if you have the rifle they fit in or not the parts are illegal
