I was wondering what the AMD-65 parts kits are selling for nowadays?  I haven't seen any for sale for a long time.  I bought one a few years back from jnewt in the EE, and noticed they've dried up.

Any current prices?

There is one on gunbroker right now, watch it at auction and you will see what they are selling for.

Not sure about the kits, but the complete rifle sells for $499 from Century. Not sure what receiver is on it though.

I've seen a few go lately..
65s with plastic grips have been going right around 200
65s with wooden grips have been going for quite a bit more ... 50-80 more in some cases
63s are in the 250-300 range but you see those even less often.
keep an eye on GB for current prices.
oh and drop me an IM if you are looking to sell one.
if, on the other hand you are looking for one then word on the street (however reliable THAT is) is that there is a bonded warehouse with some old stock with original bbls (imported before the ban) that will be released this year

Thanks a bunch for the information guys.  I can't believe they've went up so much in price over just a few years.

Yea, they keep showing up on Gunbroker.  I paid 245 for one shipped (plastic grips) on EE a few weeks ago.

Not to hijack, but this thread makes me wonder if cheap Rommy kits to just store away for a few years might be a good investment?  Been thinking about that.  Hmm.  Probably a dumb idea.  CD's will give close to five percent for a three year.  Hmm.

CD's are probably a much better investment, but when you're poor turning 50 to 100 bucks into 300 isn't too bad of a deal.

I remember when I bought AMD-65 kits for $59 and $79 and I would give the wooden grips and folders away...

If I had about 100,000 to invest right now, it would be buying up all the Romy kits I could find.  I've been building since Interordnance had East German kits for $79 (and Sten kits for $29); then Centerfire with AMD's for 59, Joeken with Polish UF's for 125, And they all doubled without an import ban!  I can see Romy kits being 350 by this time next year if the supply continues to dry up at the rate its going.  I just ordered 10, have built 5 of them and put five in storage, and have five more on the way.  And God Forbid, should there ever be another Ban by the Dem's...the price will skyrocket even more.  You will not make that kind of money on other secure or low risk investments.  And better hit up DCI for receivers for them all while youre going!
Basically all parts kits with barrels will double shortly.  No doubt here...
An old time builder friend of mine were discussing that inflation today.  We both agreed that should worse come to worse, Ban and historical trends considered....all AKM derivatives (if allowed to be grandfathered,as under the Clinton AWB) will cost over a grand in a couple or three years.  Then again, the liberals may hold off til after the 2008 elections to really show their disgust at the Freedoms granted by the 2nd amendment.  Hey a Ruger 10/22 Pre-Ban may go for over a grand!

c'mon...if it was easy...it wouldn't be any fun.   and everbody would be doing it !!!!

I've been wondering about this as well. I have a 65 kit and a 63 kit that will be headed to the EE soon. I also have the us parts for them as well. Time to get out the digital camera!

I think Thomas hit the nail on the head, the kits with barrels are drying up, and fast.
I saw an AMD65 with plastic grips in nice shape sell on another board for $260 a few weeks ago, it was only up for a few hours. So buy what you can now, you don't know how long this is going to last.
