I have seen two different types of side mounted scope rails. There is a long, straight one and a shorter one that has a raised, curved part in the middle. I want to include a rail on the M92 pistol I am building. What is the difference between the rails? Which one should I use? Does anybody have a link to instructions for mounting these on the receiver? |

Here is a link to adding one; Rail instructions At the end of the instructions it says "CYA message: This web page is posted for informational and educational use only. Any other use of the information on this website is solely at the user's risk." |

Tantal offers a couple different scope rails. A 74MP which is the russian type used on the 100 series rifles. A 74BU which is a bulgarian rail that I've seen on AK74S types. A bmp1 which is for fixed stock AKMs etc. All of these rivet on, and use one rear trunion rivet/hole. He also has a rail that has threaded holes and is designed so you can screw it on to the reciever (with the screws coming into the thread holes from the inside of the reciever. Email him at the sbcglobal addy and ask for a current product/price list. I use modified bolt cutters to squeeze the end rivets and my Plinker's rivet jig with a homemade rivet support which is cupped to do the center support. Tantal's site |
