Help!

Been lurking for a while. So "hey" to all!
Finally bought a Polish underfolder parts kit, and its on the way. Now, what type of receiver to use? I was thinking of using a nodak spud 100%. Any thoughts would be great.

Thanks.

I'd go with the NDS-1P with reinforcement plate.

Another +1 for NDS! I've used three of their recievers in my builds now. They're great. I plan to get three more.

I use NDS receivers pretty much exclusively.  I've build on almost all of their models, and they are all top-notch.

NDS recivers are nice but there are other options out there. I just got a Polish kit built on a new Ewbanks 100% receiver and it came out very nice. If this is your first build you could look into paying someone to build it for you. It would save you the cost of buying all the tools and you know it will be built nice.

I do not think you can pay someone to build an ak for you or they would be considered a manufacturer.

Hmmmm.....I believe the person who bends the receiver is the manufacturer.  It would make sense because a 100% must go through a FFL holder.  The person who attaches the parts to the receiver is an assembler.  Please correct me if I am wrong.

FWIW, I went with a nodak spud for my polish.

All I can say is stick around and read some more. Then you will see how many people build AK's. One of the best is on here all the time, Dukenukem.

Since you are from PA there is a builder right here in the State that you could use. Thats the way I did it. I am 100% happy with the results and I could never have finished the build like he did. I will send you his info.
