Is the RPK gas tube the same length as an good ole' AK?

Should be the same, although when I added a Russian gas tube to my Romanian build, I had to cut about 1/8" off the gas tube to get it to fit.

Not suprising. New built rifles have their gas tubes fitted to each rifle and is why most are numbered to the rifle fitted. Many times you can swap from rifle to rifle with no problems but a final fit maybe needed.
