I was thinking about doing another build and saw some AMD kits on clearview investments.
Are they any good? If so
I would make it a pistol build so I wouldn't have to worry about having a SBR or have to add a permanent muzzle attatchment.
I got reading the writeup they have and noticed this line.

The barrels in this kit may not be used to assemble new firearms that would be prohibited from importation Pursuant to 18 U.S.C. 925 (d) (3)

So does this mean that the barrel can't be used?
Or can I use it if it is built on a registered 100% receiver?

No history with Clearview investments.  You can not build the AMD-65's into a rifle (without having registered them first as a SBR) because they only have a 12.5" barrel. THis makes them excellent for a pistol build. As long as you make sure that the rear trunion has no ability to accept a stock and you remove/eliminate the ability to accept a foward grip.
See the receint Shotgun New treasury6 that is on the news stands now. There is a article about taking the Clearview AMD-65 kit and he goes through the process of making a pistol out of it.

Don't make it a pistol the rifle is so much better.
I have a couple to build in the near future
Going to silver solder on an extended brake to make it 16"and SBR one down the road when I have the extra cash
Clearview is one of the best venders I have bought from. Ordered my AMD-65s right  before they sold out. They sent me BRAND NEW condition ones $10 less than their site said. After shipping price was $125 each

I built my AMD65 pistol on a kit from Clearview.  Overall condition was G+ toVG with a mint bore.  Finish wear was evident but since I did a complete refinish it didn't matter.  The rear trunnion will require some welding to eliminate the ability to accept a stock.  I did a screw build using a Ewbanks receiver with the "rivet" pre-drilled.  About the best lesson I learned for a screw build is to go ahead and just weld over the empty rivet holes then use the receiver holes as a template to drill and tap.  If you have access to welding equipment or know a welder that will do it cheap (cost me $20 which included welding over the rear trunnion's folding stock hole and welding the pin.) I think this is the way to go.  I did the final grinding.  Took the guy about 10 minutes.

A rifle build requires permanently attaching the extended brake and adding the appropriate US parts.  A pistol build does not require US parts and you can use the 10.5" flame throwing barrel.  On mine, recoil isn't bad at all...I used an  original AMD brake cut down so  just one pair of holes remain

I'll add a little AMD porn myself.  I'm trying to decide what to do with my 2nd kit now.  Eventhough the "pistol" is neat, it's not that practical.  It'll probably be more fun with it when I get around to adding a laser sight.
