Does there need to be tension on the firing pin in the bolt, or does it move loosely back and forth in the bolt?......Thanks for the info.....

Most AKs have a free floating firing pin.  I know that some AK variants like the Galil have a spring loaded firing pin.

both depending on the maker some ak use a free floating firing pin and others have a return spring to return the firing pin to the rear making it safer by reducing the possibility of a slam fire. The free floating firing pins are usually made light weight  so they dont have enough power to detonate the primer. Those that are free floated will rattle when shaken.

I hope this helps
