I didn't notice any problem w/ the Romy G parts kit before I pressed out the barrel. When I was lining it up to press it looked OK. When it was in I could set it in a vise and twist it till it lined up OK. So I press the barrel pin back in and it looks like the rear sight base is canted. Is this possible? Or is the warped top cover throwing me off?

If you braced the RSB while pressing the pin back in then you may have moved it. Whack that bitch back the other way you probably wont hurt it. I have done the same on like 3 builds.

Doubtfull that the rear sight BASE is canted as it squares off inside the rails of the trunnion.  The rear sight leaf may be bent though.  Bend it the way it needs to go.  Its not going to hurt it

The BASE looks wrong. For one thing there's a noticeable gap onthe right of the base and the front trunnion. No gap on the left side. I'm gonna see if it goes bang today and try the WACK method later.

Hm.  Thats interesting.

I guess it is possible if you pressed the barrel in maybe one or two degrees crooked.  I just figured that once the rear sight base slips over the trunnion it would square it up.

Sounds like its either time for a hammer or maybe push the barrel out and try to press it in straight again?

I think I know what you're talking about. I had a real stubborn pin and I think I knocked the rear sight base out of whack pressing on it. I couldn't move it back with a hammer, I may try using the press to straighten it back out.

Sounds like you might have canted/bent it a bit when you pressed the pin out.  If you used a shop press and don't get the rsb supported well, you can actually bend them.  As long as it isn't too bad just beat/form it back like it should be.  As long as the gas tube will go on you should be ok.

Maybe post a pic?

It goes BANG but still needs work. I took a look at a "new" Romy nonG at a gunshop and the RSB was just the same, with the front sight adjusted WAY over. I'll work on it as time permits.

I have one that was drilled wrong. But I mean why not, every other block on the barrel was drilled wrong. Be a shame leave something perfectly vertical.

I finally got the underfolder stock on it and it shoulders and eyeballs just fine. Now to see if it shoots around corners.

For some reason the brake on that underfolder is looking pretty darn good.

Man thats some nice looking hardware you got there.

If you hadn't have told me the rear sight was crooked I never would have noticed.....just kidding

Love the underfolder!
