i haven't done a milled build (but i'm keeping it in the back of my head in case i ever decide to), but i know people have been happy with both the firing line receivers as well as the ORF receivers. ORF's are about twice the price though, but i believe it's a true Type II russian which i don't think firing line offers.

basically, if you don't plan on doing a type 2 russian build, you should be very happy with a firing line receiver.

I read a post somewhere on the franken ak.... welded/milled receiver that's also an interesting build if you have tig access .....anyone got a link......
