[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Gluing split upper handguard?

One of my parts kits has a split upper handguard. Since I plan to refinish the wood, which includes a bleach soak, I was wondering what I should do.

Find a waterproof glue and glue it together before stripping? Look for a new upper?

Cyanoacrylate! Either Jet-Set or Super-Jet, DON'T get the generic crap! Trust me on this.

I've used Gorilla Glue with good results.
