| Description sounds good, images look good. Anyone use this stuff? I read on the application page of their website that they recommend sand blasting is the pretreatment before applying gun-kote. Is this absolutely necessary? It also says that you should heat to 100-120 but that 350 is better. What's the low down on that? I'm torn between mat black and the gun metal blue... how much will I need for 2 side folders (all parts)? Will it mess up the fit on a side rail mount? |

I have always blasted and parked before applying. Baking at 325 for 1 hour. One of the small cans will do 4-5 guns. I have always used and air brush. Never tried the spay can yet. I have always used the matte black, it looks the best, in my opinion. I have never used the gun blue color, but have been interested in what it looks like. It won't make the optic rail tight. It is only a few thousandths thick. It is best to apply four or five thin coats. The first couple are hardly seen. Let dry a half hour or so between coats and an hour before baking. If you are parking first, make sure everything is dry. I have had a few seep oil, park solution or water from the tight spots and bubble the finish. Hope this helps, Mike |
