| I just installed the trunion/barrel into my receiver and checked the bolt carrier and it is a very tight fit. The last build had all matching numbers but this one had matching numbers on the back half but the front half (barrel, trunion and handguard had different numbers. The barrel still had the spiral paper in it and appears new or rearsenaled. Anyway, the bolt carrier will slide up to about one inch from the trunnion, then the rest of the way is tight but not so much that i have to hammer it in and out. I have checked the fit on the gas piston/gas block and it hits a slight bit high before entering the gas block. Any help on fitting or something else would be appreciated. |
the rails might just be real tight on it. mine was like that, had to file down the upper rails or it wouldnt budge. also, make sure it can fit around the ejector, mine needed some filing down too |
| yea, i kinda figured that would be the answer, last night when I first fitted it it was so tight it would hardly go anywhere, so i filed off a very small amount of the rails because they looked as if they pointed slightly downward, causing the bolt carrier to bind, i will file some more to get it to run smoothly. Thanks for the input, keep it coming! |

I have had a similar issue. Look to see if the reciever and barrel are exactly parrelel. I had 1 that was just a few degrees off. I would not have noticed if I had not been told to look for it. Does the bolt mate up and piviot to lock with the trunion? You can see this from the mag well. I ended up forcing the bolt/carrier up into the trunion and then hitting it with a dead blow hammer. It allowed the trunion/reciever to shift just enough to work and align correctly. |
| I'm doing my 2nd build on a Global receiver. Yes, these do need to be fitted, they are not a LEGO set. Once they are tweaked, they operate fine. One thing I have noticed, you can "spread" open the top of the receiver and get some really positive results. I use external snap ring pleijers, works great. Rarely did I remove metal on th 2 I've done, really hard to put back. I could see a slight inward bow in the area where the binding occured. Oil helps too. |
