Need more help on my 1st Romi build.  I have my flat bent and front & rear trunions fitted.  With the trunions held in tight with c-clamps, I'm trying to fit the mag well area.  I've filed on the mag opening enough where the mag will go in, but the rear tab on the mag doesn't sit flush to the receiver.  It's about a fat 1/16" from the receiver.  I appears that there's sufficient clearance everywhere, but the mag stop is not flush.  Please help, I'm at a lost for ideas and wanted to rivit in my trigger guard this weekend once the mag well is good.
Thanks.

mag tab should not sit flush with the receiver.  The safety stop will prevent that when you install the trigger guard.

Thanks for the reply.  I probably filed more than I had to.  My DVD from Roderus is a little confusing, it shows the mag fitting flush (touching the receiver).  Curtis actually mills the magwell in order to get it to fit flush.  Honestly though, thanks for the input.  If I can get the lower rails welded on tomorrow I'll rivit on the trigger guard Sunday.

even on armory and OOW receivers, the selector stop doesn't sit flush, on the outside edges.

As long as your magazine rides high enough, it is all good. I feel comfortable with about 1/8" of engagement between the bolt and cartridge, as it's stripped from the mag.

Oh, and it is possible (although highly unlikely) that a magazine could ride to high.
