Yowwww...Now I understand what all this talk about trigger slap is on the Romanians... Has anybody tried the 'cut off the excess on the sear' fix, and did it work? Poking around my FCG, it looks like the Century gun-monkeys are just plopping parts in with casting lines intact and absolutely 0% fitting. Strangely, though, my gun ended up with a fairly nice trigger, and I'd just like to get rid of that nasty slap, hence the question. Larry |

If you remove the tail end of the secondary sear as recommended and then slightly radius the corner where it rests in the trigger, all trigger slap should be removed. I've done this to a couple of SAR1s and the improvement was significant - no slap at all. Good Luck! |
| I have G2 fire control groups for $35 on my site www.MidwestArmory.com they are a great improvement compared to the original century ones. |

I used to have a post ban Romy that trigger slapped the hell out of me. When I traded it in for a non-ban, I took my FCG out and did the trigger slap fix on it before I even took it out to the range for the first time. Well, I have never had trigger slap with my new Romy after several hundred rounds. Not once. So...Assuming that the rifle would have had trigger slap before the fix (probably), then my fix was a total success. I also polished up the parts while I had it apart. My WASR has an excellent trigger for an AK. If the CIA FCG wears out then I'll replace it with a G2, but for now the freeby fix works just fine! I'll probably take midwest up on their G2 deal for my Yugo project and for any builds I do. |
