| I have a Chinese BWK-92, basically a 5.56mm MAK-90. I put a Fiberforce stock on it when I got it ten years ago because I couldn't stand the damn 922(r) thumbhole. Now I'm tired of the Fiberforce and I want to go the parts-compliance-and-normal-stock route, but since this beast has the slant-back receiver I can't find any furniture that fits it any more. Does anyone in the Hive Mind know of a source? I'd prefer plastic, but will settle for wood. Thanks in advance. By the way, this thing is a scream to shoot. The only problem I have with it is getting it away from my grandsons so I can shoot it. |
| No promises but I plan on getting some complete synthetic stock sets for slant cut receivers in the next couple weeks. The price wil be reasonable probably around $60 I also have G2 FCG's for $35 so with $3.85 shipping on any order your probably looking at $100 shipped for everything you would be needing. This would give you 6 U.S. parts which you only need 5 this would allow you to legally install a non U.S. break or what not in the future. Check my www.MidwestArmory.com for future updates. |

No quality polymer stock will fit without fitting that will ruin the stock for any other type of AK. Actually I have an extra Bulgarian one I have fitted to a BWK-92. The way to go though is wood as this will put the rifle back to how it was originally before a thumbhole stock was installed. If your interested in a used and fitted polymer stock IM me. For the original wood: Go to the link to Keng's or polytechparts.com. They have the exact stock you want. Stock Assembly, AKS, Blonde Wood - $34.95 EACH PART: 70-05 I got one there last year. If you still have your wood handguards you will only have to buy the stock. You will then need to put a US Fire Control Group, a US gas piston and use a US wood pistol grip to remain compliant with the law. The magazines that work best are the Chinese and there are no US followers that work as compliance parts as far as I know. To make it easy though you may be able to use a US mag baseplate as a compliance part instead of the gas piston. I have some and just installed them on one of my .223 Chinese mags to make sure and it does fit and seems to work. If you decide you want to do this conversion and want to remain legal you can put a Tapco G2 double hook Fire Control Group in available for about $35.00 on the Equipment Exchange, A U.S. wood pistol grip available from Z-recto on Gunco.net or Gunsnet.net and I can hook you up with enough U.S. baseplates for your Chinese mags (or I can give you the contact info for a couple of guys here that have the baseplates and followers but the followers will be useless to you). Another option is a Ironwood Designs stockset for a stamped Chinese square-cut receiver but that will only count for 3 of the 5 parts you will need and you will still need baseplates for each mag and one other U.S. part such as the piston or one FCG part. If you want to go that way I have some U.S. sears and hammers also if you want to switch out one or two of those parts but maintain you Chinese Double hook trigger. It is not an option to put the U.S. parts in, it is required by the law and I would do it as much as it is unlikely anyone would know, do you want to risk it? ![]() |

Thanks for the help, Mak. I am not one to flaunt the law. I've already been looking at the Ironwood stocks; I much prefer the look and feel of wood. Way ahead of you on the US parts count; I was an FFL when these regs were passed. But will keep your kind offers in mind. I'm currently planning on Ironwood walnut furniture and a full FCG replacement, just to be safe. Thanks again, everyone! Edited for Saturday Morning spelling. |
