[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Another Gas Tube Question

I want to replace the upper gas tube on one of my AMD's with an AK tube so that I can install an upper handguard. I'm having a hard time finding an AK tube without vent holes. Is the portion that I will have to cut-off long enough so that I can buy a gas tube with ports or do I need to stick with one that doesn't have ports? Two weeks ago there were portless gas tubes everywhere. Now I can't find the first one.

Snag a Bulgarian 74 tube from K-Var. Thats what I use when doing this for customers

No prob. They do require a little fitting but nothing you cant handle.
