I'm building an underfolder and I am painting with GunKote. My question is, how do you paint the underfolder and the mag catch? Both have moving parts that will be partially hidden when you paint them and I'm worried about a. not getting good coverage and b. freesing the moving bits in one position when the paint dries.

Any ideas?

Most people apply the finish before the latch pin and spring are installed leaving them unfinished. I completely assemble mine and finish/paint the whole thing inside and out.

I'm using the existing triggerguard so I did not have the option of painting before assembly. When you paint, do you use gunkote? Have you ever had the thing get stuck becasue of the paint? Have you ever pained an underfolder stock?

The UF is off already so no problem there :-) I'm just worred about the place where the butt pivots on the arms.

I'm building this thing and the original finish is about shot.
