| I started to drill rivets out with-out removing barrel and one of the rivets started to spin. What can I do now? How hard is it to remove the barrel and do I need any jigs to hold the barrel when its pressed out? Sould I just drill a new hole behind the old one? |

If you want to remove the rivets and NOT the barrel, then just remove the rivets! The bbl is PINNED in. two rivets on top, and on in the bottom rear of the trunion are what needs removing. Once the rivet is spinning, that means the walls are very thin. you can use a much bigger bit or (preferably) a countersink to drill off just enough from the top to get rid of the rivet head. be carefull not to drill into the trunion (drill in tiny increments). After the head is gone, you can simply pull/punch the remains of the rivet out. |
