K-Var just e-mailed me an article about rivets and their correct installation. Though I take their lawyer inspired text with a grain of salt, generally the advise is good. Though the use of heat treated screws can help eliminate the "sheared rivet syndrome", even the screws should be counter-sunk by indenting the hole into the bevel in the trunions. |
