i have a saiga and im looking to do a muzzle brake. i noticed it might be treaded under this cover the sight post has on the tip of the barrel. any ideas?

Cut off the cover to find out. If not thread the barrel...

i'm in the same boat. have a saiga and want to install a brake as well. i read somewhere a guy used a pipe cutter and got a nice cut on the barrel shroud. made a nice straight line all the way around, then took a dremel and relieved the metal to get it to come off easier. from what i'e read it's a total crap shoot you may or may not have threads. about to find out today if mine has threads. if not, Carolina shooters supply has all the tooling for threading the barrel without taking it all apart. centering jig for threading, cutting dye and dye tool. i bought a bullet guide and lower handguard clamp from them. they might be getting more of my money soon.
